Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your day on the water.

Do I need a boat licence?
No boat licence is required! Our boats are easy to operate and fully licensed for recreational use without a boat licence. WeLL give you a safety briefing and all the tips you need before you head out.

Are dogs allowed?
Unfortunately, no. Due to parts of the river running through National Park areas, dogs are not permitted on our boats. We know they’re part of the family, but this helps us protect local wildlife and meet environmental regulations.

Can kids come on the boat?
Absolutely – our boats are perfect for family adventures. We provide life jackets for children of all ages. Just let us know their ages and sizes when booking, and we’ll have the right safety gear ready.

Where can I go in the boat?
You can explore the beautiful Sussex Inlet waterways, including the river, canals, and parts of St Georges Basin. We’ll provide a map and highlight the best places to cruise, anchor for lunch, or cast a line — along with any restricted zones to avoid.

What should I bring?
We recommend bringing:
-
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunnies)
-
Food and drinks (an esky is a great idea!)
-
Towels and swimmers if you plan to swim
-
A phone or camera for those river views.
We’ll provide safety equipment, maps, and a quick run-through of how everything works.

Can I fish? Do I need a fishing licence?
Yes, you’re welcome to fish from the boat! Just make sure you have a valid NSW Recreational Fishing Licence, which you can easily buy online or at local tackle shops. Bring your own gear.

What happens in bad weather?
Safety is our top priority. If the weather is unsafe (strong winds, heavy rain, storms), we’ll happily reschedule your booking or offer a refund. Light rain is usually okay, but we’ll always contact you beforehand and make the best call for comfort and safety.
